Recently I have been asked a lot about oil pulling, so I might as well sum it up in a post. ;-)

First time I ever heard of oil pulling was last year when a friend of mine stayed over at mine´s for a few month. She would walk into the kitchen every morning, just nodding at me because obviously her mouth was full. She explained to me that it was an ancient Indian remedy, supposed to take in all the toxins of your body and making you healthier. Having a beautiful and radiant skin was only the side effect. Well, looking at her gorgeous skin, she is 36 and has the skin of a 16 year old, was enough convincing to start oil pulling myself. By now, not only has my skin improved, but my teeth have become whiter and my gum turned a healthy pink.
How does it work?
- In the morning and on an empty stomach and before even drinking one sip of water, scrape your tongue with a spoon
- Take a spoon full of organic virgin sesame oil (you can also use coconut or sunflower oil)
- Let it circulate in your mouth, suck and push it through your teeth but NEVER swallow it, as it takes in all the toxins in your mouth
- If you want to do it for more than 5 minutes, change the oil in your mouth
- When you are done, spit the wasted oil (by now it´s supped to be thinner and white) into the toilet, then rinse your mouth thoroughly and brush your teeth.
What are the benefits of oil pulling?
- Prevents diseases
- Fights acne and eczema
- Brighter white teeth and healthy gum
- Clearer sinuses (apparently, haven´t noticed that one…)
- Cleaner and glowing skin
- An overall detoxifying effect (your liver and kidneys will thank you)
Please try it and let me know what you think.
PS: Don´t expect an immediate result, my skin started getting better after 3 weeks of oil pulling (every day).
