What can I say? It is still raining. And what comes with the rain? An inexplicable urge to eat lots and lots of comfort food. So basically the rain is the main raison why I lost my bikini figure 10 days before my beach vacation.
But do we get all gloomy? No! Do we start a new diet/workout? No!
We bake a delicious chocolate cake and indulge ourselves. Because after all that’s what life is all about and not about starving yourself!
You need:
- 100g of dark chocolate
- 100g of butter
- 175g of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 125g of flour
- Some unsweetened cocoa (optional)
Here it goes:
Melt the chocolate with the butter and stir till it becomes a homogenous liquid. You could go all romantic and do so in a bain marie (water bath) but I’m quite practical and not a very patient person so I use my microwave
I know Sophie Dahl would kill me for that.
In the meantime you blend the sugar into the eggs until it gets this creamy texture.
Then you add the egg-sugar mix to the chocolate and stir till fully blended and then add the flour. Don’t forget the flour!!!
If you like you can add some cocoa to make it more chocolaty or use less sugar so it’s not too sweet.
Once the batter is done, butter a round form and put the cake into the oven at 250°C for 8 minutes. You heard me right. This lovely cake takes all together (from the very start till the point where you can eat it) 15 minutes and tastes delicious.
If you don’t want your cake to be creamy in the inside (which is the actual point of this cake) leave it a few minutes more (check with a knive).
You can eat it like this (warm!) or serve it with vanilla ice cream.
PS: I promise to make a nicer picture next time I bake it.
